Protecting One of the World’s Most Endangered Freshwater Fish

The Maloti Minnow - A Small Fish. A Big Impact.

Hidden in the clear, cold mountain streams of Lesotho, the Maloti Minnow (Pseudobarbus quathlambae) is on the brink of extinction. Once thriving, this unique species is now critically endangered (IUCN) due to habitat loss, invasive species, and climate change. We have a narrow window to act - Now!

Why This Matters

  • Critically endangered species – found nowhere else on Earth
  • Indicator of ecosystem health – its survival reflects clean water systems
  • Rapid population decline due to human impact and environmental changes

If we lose the Maloti Minnow, we lose part of our planet’s biodiversity forever.
